Assam imposes night curfew along Nagaland border

The ADM of Sivasagar said movement of any person or group of persons or any vehicular traffic is prohibited during the period of night curfew.

Kohima: The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Sivasagar in Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM in the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland state with effect from 1st July 2021 for a period of 60 days.
According to a Nagaland official report, the ADM of Sivasagar in an order said night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent the occurrence of anti-social elements, extremist or unlawful activities coming across the Assam-Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district.

The ADM of Sivasagar said the movement of any person or group of persons or any vehicular traffic is prohibited during the period of night curfew.

However, magistrates, security personnel of the army, CRPF, Police and civil officials deployed on duty are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order, the report said.
