Guwahati: Assam government Friday distributed licenses to 25 mineral dealers under Assam Mineral Regulation and Dealers Rules, 2020.
In a ceremonial function here, licenses were handed over to dealers by the Minister of Mines and Minerals Jogen Mohan.
The licenses were issued to dealers to regulate the possession, storage, trading and transport of minerals and mineral production. The move will also help to check the evasion of royalty and curbed the unauthorized mining activities which cause loss to the state exchequer.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Mohan said “Assam is a state full of rich mineral resources like Coal, Limestone, Sillimanite and Iron ore. These minerals generate huge revenue for the state coffers and help in generating employment.”
