Guwahati: Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi has tested positive for COVID 19 and have been hospitalized at a private hospital here.Mukhi tested positive for the infection on Wednesday.
“The governor was admitted to the Apollo Hospital last evening. He is in a stable condition,” an official on Thursday said.
His wife has tested negative for the infection and is staying at Raj Bhawan.
Meanwhile, as Assam gears up to celebrate ‘Bhogali Bihu’, the COVID-19 situation has taken a grim turn with concerns over the 3,274 new coronavirus cases reported on Wednesday.
The government has, meanwhile, announced relaxation in night curfew timings for celebrating Bohag Bihu and the ‘uruka’ celebrations on Thursday night. The curfew timing has been moved from 11 pm to 4 am instead of 10 pm to 6 am for January 13-14.
