Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will attend the swearing in ceremony of cabinet expansion of the Modi government which is likely to take place on Wednesday evening.
Sarma has been personally invited by the former chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to attend the ceremony, a source in the Chief Ministers Office told UNI.
Former Chief Minister Sonowal, who agreed to give up the chief ministers post in Assam for Sarma after the BJP re-election in the state while it was well speculated that he will be inducted in the union cabinet.
After Sarma was chosen as the chief minister overlooking Sonowal, there has been new found camaraderie between the two senior most leaders of BJP in Assam.
In the previous BJP government led by Sonowal there were always talks about the two power centres in Assam and friction between two senior most leaders of the state.
