Arunachal’s Covid tally rises to 66,353

The State has administered 18,24,676 doses of the Covid19 vaccine to its eligible citizens now.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh on Friday reported 39 fresh Covid19 cases, pushing the overall tally of confirmed cases to 66,353, a senior health official said.

The new cases came after testing of 533 samples during the past 24 hours, registering a 7.32 percent positivity rate, State Surveillance Officer-IDSP Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

In contrast, the state recorded 54 recoveries in the last 24 hours which mounted the total number of recuperated cases to 65,841.

With this, the state’s active Covid caseload further plunged to 216, he said.
Of the new cases, nine were found in Shi-Yomi, eight in East Siang, and seven in the Namsai district. Itanagar Capital Complex and Kamle contracted three virus cases each, while two cases each came from Lohit, Tawang, and West Kameng. Fourteen of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and 25 symptomatic.

Arunachal’s Covid toll remained at 296 with a 0.45 percent fatality rate. The recovery rate stood at 99.23 percent and the case positivity rate at 0.32 percent.

The State has administered 18,24,676 doses of the Covid19 vaccine to its eligible citizens now.

Altogether 10,24,175 beneficiaries have taken the first dose, while 80,0501 people received both doses of the vaccine, State Immunization Officer Dr Dimong Padung said.

Arunachal also administered 72,450 booster/precaution doses so far, Dr Padung said.
