Arunachal’s Covid case tally crosses 66,000-mark

The state’s recovery rate improved to 98.95 percent, while its case positivity rate stood at 0.60 percent and fatality rate at 0.45 percent.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s Covid19 case count crossed the 66,000-mark with 78 more people testing positive for the Coronavirus infection during the past 24 hours, a senior health official said on Thursday.

With the fresh infections, the state’s tally of confirmed cases mounted to 66,046. On the other hand, 79 patients have recuperated from the disease in the period that took the total number of recoveries to 65,350, State Surveillance Officer, IDSP, Dr. Lobsang Jampa said.

Following this, the Northeastern state’s active case tally slightly dipped to 400. Of them, 391 are recuperating under home isolation, he said.

On Wednesday, the State reported 75 fresh cases and 107 recoveries.
Of the new infections, 15 cases were detected in Dibang Valley, 10 in Namsai, eight in West Kameng, seven in Itanagar Capital Complex, six in Shi-Yomi, five in Lower Subansiri, and four in Lohit district.

Thirty-four of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 44 symptomatic. The State had tested 493 samples for Covid19 testing during the last 24 hours which took the cumulative figure to 12,84,288.

Arunachal’s Covid toll remained unchanged at 296, he said. The state’s recovery rate improved to 98.95 percent, while its case positivity rate stood at 0.60 percent and fatality rate at 0.45 percent.

On the vaccination front, Arunachal Pradesh has administered more than 18.09 lakh Covid vaccine doses to its eligible citizens to date. Over 10.15 lakh beneficiaries have been given the first dose, while 7.94 lakh people have taken both doses of the anti-Covid vaccine, State Immunization Officer Dr. Dimong Padung said.
