Arunachal’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crosses the 12 lakh-mark

The Northeastern state has so far administered 12.02 lakh vaccine doses to its citizens, above 18, since the launch of the nationwide vaccination drive in January.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed the 12-lakh mark as more than 10,000 people across the state have been vaccinated in the past 24 hours, a senior health official said.

The Northeastern state has so far administered 12.02 lakh vaccine doses to its citizens, above 18, since the launch of the nationwide vaccination drive in January.

While 7.63 lakh beneficiaries have received the first dose, 4.39 lakh have been fully inoculated, he said.

Meanwhile, the state has reported 27 fresh Covid-19 cases and 21 recoveries during the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases in the state stands at 54,752 and the total number of recoveries is 54,061.

Of the new cases, East Kameng reported five cases while East Siang and Lower Subansiri recorded four each. Itanagar Capital Complex recorded two cases.

According to figures released by the Directorate of Health Services here, 17 of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 10 symptomatic.

With daily cases outnumbering recoveries, the state’s active caseload rose to 414. Lower Dibang Valley has the highest 73 cases, followed by Lohit (69), West Kameng (65), Tawang (49) and East Siang (38), while the worst-hit Itanagar Capital Complex has just seven active cases.

With 2,699 samples for Covid-19 being tested in the past 24 hours, the total number of samples tested till now is 11,52,517.
