Arunachal’s Changlang district selected for PM’s Award for Excellence in Public Admn 2022

The award shall be presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Civil Services Day in a function to be held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on April 21 next.

Itanagar: The Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh has been selected for the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2022 for its initiative, ‘New Age Learning Centre, in the Innovation—District’ category, official sources said on Saturday.

The award shall be presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Civil Services Day in a function to be held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on April 21 next.

This was informed by the Secretary, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, in an official communique to the Chief Secretary, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, on Friday.

Expressing his delight at getting the good news, Chief Minister Pema Khandu wrote on his Twitter handle: “Kudos to Team District Changlang for creating a watershed moment in public administration through innovation.”

The selection of the district for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration-2022 for its initiative, the New Age Learning Centre, in category of ‘Innovation-District’ is a matter of pride for us, Khandu said.

“I wish more and more districts would make the most of technologies and innovation to further accelerate the pace of good governance. Congratulations and best wishes to the District Changlang Administration. Keep it up!” Khandu tweeted.

Sources said that Changlang Deputy Commissioner Sunny K Singh is likely to attend the Civil Services Day event at Vigyan Bhavan and receive the prestigious award on behalf of the district.
