Arunachal’s active Covid cases dip below 100-mark

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh recorded 12 fresh Covid19 cases and 47 recoveries during the past 24 hours and consequently, the state’s active caseload dipped below the 100-mark after nearly two months, a senior health official said on Wednesday.

With the addition of the new cases, the Northeastern state’s tally of confirmed cases increased to 64,439 while the fresh recoveries took the total number of cured cases past the 64,000-mark to be at 64,044.

The state’s active caseload declined to 99, comprising 0.15 per cent of the total infections, while the recovery rate further improved to 99.39 per cent. With no cases of fatality reported on the day the state’s Covid toll remained unchanged at 296, he said.

Three of the fresh cases were detected in Longding, two each in Namsai and Tawang while one each came from Papum Pare, Itanagar Capital Complex, East Siang, Lower Subansiri and Upper Siang.

The state had tested 259 samples for Covid19 in the last 24 hours took its cumulative figure to 12,63,820. The day’s positivity rate was 4.6 per cent, which stood at 4.4 per cent the previous day.
