Arunachal’s active Covid caseload trims down to 267

Itanagar: Covid19 recoveries continue to surpass daily infections in Arunachal Pradesh as it saw 34 fresh cases and 69 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, a senior health official said on Tuesday.

Following this, the state’s tally of confirmed cases increased to 64,313 and the total number of recovered cases to 63,750. Consequently, its active caseload has further dropped down to 267 with 252 of them being lodged in home isolation.

With no case of any casualty reported on the day, the state’s death toll remained at 296, he said. Of the fresh cases, six each came from East Siang, Longding and Namsai, while three cases were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, Lower Subansiri and West Kameng.

Fifteen of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and 19 symptomatic. The day’s positivity rate was 4.2 per cent, which stood at 4.6 per cent the previous day.

The new cases were found out of 803 samples tested for Covid19 in the period that took its cumulative figure to 12,60,532.

On the inoculation front, about 69 per cent of the total adult populations have been administered both doses of the Covid vaccine and 83 per cent received the first dose, while 55 per cent of the adolescents got the first dose and 22 per cent received the second dose of anti-Covid vaccine.

The state’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed 16.27-lakh mark, the health official said.
