Arunachal reports 9 new COVID cases, 10 recoveries

Three of the nine new cases were reported from Tawang, while Lower Dibang Valley and Lower Subansiri reported two cases each, and Itanagar Capital Complex and East Siang reported one case each.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh reported 9 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours that swelled the state’s tally of confirmed cases to 55,114, a senior health official said on Wednesday.

Three of the nine new cases were reported from Tawang, while Lower Dibang Valley and Lower Subansiri reported two cases each, and Itanagar Capital Complex and East Siang reported one case each.

On the other hand, 10 people have recuperated from the viral infection during the same period. With this, the total number of recovered cases has now increased to 54,697, while the active caseload has dipped to 137, he said.

Meanwhile, 4,474 people, including 14 healthcare workers and 84 frontline workers, have received the COVID-19 vaccine shots during the past 24 hours. While 597 beneficiaries took the first dose, 3,877 were given the second dose.

Cumulatively, 12,95,778 COVID-19 vaccine jabs have so far been administered among the 18-plus population of the state under the nationwide vaccination programme. While 7,73,910 beneficiaries have received the first dose, 5,21,868 have been given both the doses of the anti-COVID vaccine.

Notably, over seven lakh GOI-supplied vaccine doses are still available with the State Health Department.
