Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday recorded 65 new COVID-19 cases and one more casualty that took its death toll to 271.
The fresh fatality was reported from the Lower Subansiri district.
Meanwhile, the State witnessed more recoveries than the daily cases on Tuesday. Against the 65 new cases detected during the past 24 hours, 69 patients have recuperated in the period that dipped the state’s active caseload to 528.
Of the new cases, Tawang accounted for the highest 16 cases, followed by Itanagar Capital Complex – 14 and Lower Subansiri -12, according to a bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services here.
Of the total cases, 42 turned out to be asymptomatic and 23 symptomatic.
With the detection of the fresh cases, the state’s tally of confirmed cases rose to 53,872, while the number of recoveries increased to 53,073.
The state’s COVID recovery rate now stands at 98.52 per cent, while the positivity rate is 0.98 per cent and the death rate is 0.50 per cent.
The State on Tuesday tested 3983 samples for COVID-19 that took the cumulative figure of tests done so far past the 11-lakh mark, as per the bulletin.
