Arunachal reports 465 new Covid-19 cases; 2 succumb

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Covid-19 caseload rose to 41,279 as 465 people tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.

The death toll rose to 195 as two more succumbed to the virus.

Of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 109, followed by Lohit 47 and Papum Pare 40, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Barring 185, all the patients are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin, a 23-year-old woman from Lower Siang district passed away on Wednesday morning, almost after hours she delivered a baby at DCH, Pasighat. She tested positive through rapid antigen test (RAT) and was referred from Nari CHC. She died due to amniotic fluid embolism.

The second casualty was reported from Kurung Kumey district. A 40-year-old man passed away on Wednesday afternoon at DCHC, Koloriang.

On the other hand, 286 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 36,903.

Active cases tally stands at 4,181.
