Itanagar: After a brief respite in the rate of daily Coronavirus infection, Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday reported 43 fresh Covid19 cases with an 11.23 percent positivity rate that took its tally of confirmed cases to 66,447, a senior health official said.
On the contrary, 53 persons have recuperated from the disease during the past 24 hours. With this, the state’s active Covid caseload dipped to 145 while the total number of recovered cases rose to 66,006, State Surveillance Officer-IDSP Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
The Northeastern state had recorded 21 Covid cases in the last three days, including 13 cases on Sunday, and six and two on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
Of the new cases, 12 came from Namsai, seven from Upper Siang, five from East Siang, and four from the Anjaw district. Three cases each were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, Changlang, and West Kameng, and two apiece in East Kameng and Leparada Seven of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and 36 symptomatic. The new cases came from 383 samples tested for the infection during the last 24 hours.
The state’s recovery rate currently stood at 99.34 percent, while the overall positivity rate slumped to 0.22 percent and the death rate remained at 0.45 percent.
