Arunachal reports 394 new Covid cases; death toll mounts to 92

Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 84, followed by Changlang 49 and Upper Siang 43, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Itanagar: As many as 394 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 23,553, while the death toll rose to 92 as three more succumbed to the virus.

Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 84, followed by Changlang 49 and Upper Siang 43, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Barring 176, all the patients are symptomatic.

According to the bulletin, a 50-year-old man from Gunanagar, Chowkham in Namsai district expired on May 17 at his residence. The Covid-19 patient was suffering from hypertension and died due to cardiac arrest.

A 43-year-old woman from Wakro, Lohit district, died on Friday at DCH, Pasighat. She had tested positive through rapid antigen test (RAT). She was suffering from hypertension and asthma and died due to Covid pneumonia.

The third casualty was reported from Changlang district. A 60-year-old Covid-19 patient from New Dupke expired on Friday at DCHC, Jairampur. He died due to cardio respiratory failure.

On a positive note, 206 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, taking the total recoveries to 20,545.

Active cases stood at 2,916.
