Arunachal reports 358 COVID-19 cases, 5 die

Itanagar: With detection of 358 more COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hrs, the state’s case tally rose to 30,850, while five more succumbed to the virus, taking the death toll to 138.

Out of the new positive cases, Kurung Kumey reported the highest at 59, followed by Itanagar Capital Complex at 54 and Changlang at 43, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

All the patients are asymptomatic except 138.

According to the bulletin, among the five fatalities, two were reported from Tawang. A 52-year-old and 63-year-old Covid patients expired on Friday at Military Hospital, Dahung, West Kameng. The other three were reported from Changlang, Namsai and East Siang.

On the other hand, 288 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, taking the total recoveries to 27,438. The recovery rate is around 89 percent.

Active cases stood at 3,274.
