Arunachal reports 337 new Covid case; death toll rises to 89

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh continued to witness a spike in Covid-19 cases with the detection of 337 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s caseload to 22,799, while the death toll rose to 89 as a 58-year-old man succumbed to the virus.

According to the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS), out of the new Covid-19 cases, the highest was reported from Itanagar Capital Complex at 75, followed by Lower Subansiri 39, and Tawang 37.

Twenty-eight cases were also reported from Kamle, Upper Subansiri 27, Lohit 22, Namsai 21, West Kameng 19, Changlang 15, Lower Dibang Valley 14, East Siang eight, East Kameng six, Upper Siang, Tirap, Pakke Kessang and Papum Pare five each, West Siang three, Dibang Valley two and Kurung Kumey one, it said.

As per the bulletin, barring 154, all the patients are asymptomatic.

As per the bulletin, a 58-year-old Covid-19 patient from Doimukh, near here, expired on Wednesday morning at his residence. He was suffering from hypertension and diabetes mellitus. He died due to cardio-respiratory failure.
