Arunachal reports 180 Covid-19 cases; death toll mounts to 81

According to the bulletin, of the three casualties, two were reported from Tawang and one from Namsai.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh continued to witness rise in Covid-19 cases with the detection of 180 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 21,802, while the death toll rose to 81 as three more succumbed to the virus.

Out of the fresh new cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 51, followed by Lohit at 21 and Changlang 20, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Barring 69, all the patients are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin, of the three casualties, two were reported from Tawang and one from Namsai.

A 44-year-old Covid patient who was referred from DH-Namsai, expired on Sunday at DCH-Pasighat. She was suffering from Chronic Hepatitis-B and died due to Covid pneumonia.

A 33-year-old woman from Tawang district died on Saturday during her journey midway near Sela. She had tested positive through rapid antigen test (RAT) at DH-Tawang and expired due to acute respiratory distress syndrome.

A 51-year-old woman from village Rho in Tawang district expired on Saturday at her residence. She was tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at DH, Tawang and expired due to Covid pneumonia.

On a positive note, 168 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, taking the total recoveries to 19,461.

Active cases stood at 2,260.
