Itanagar: In a repeat of 2021, Arunachal Pradesh has once again bagged top spot in the ‘Most Improved Small States Governance’ category in the ‘India Today’ State of the States survey, scoring 72.3 out of 120.
The Himalayan state is closely followed by last year’s second position holder Tripura (72.2) and Manipur (61.8) at the third spot.
This latest development came at a time when the country is observing the Good Governance Week.
Expressing his delight at this development, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, “All recognitions are precious. And this one by India Today for Governance is especially significant, coming as it is in Good Governance week, and given our stepped up focus on making lives easier for people, inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Inspired by PM’s Digital India program, we’ve been running over a dozen IT projects besides 18 e-services through Arunachal Pradesh Police and district administration. To help them, 210 common service centres (CSC) have been made operational. Arunachal is a shining example of holistic growth, he said.
“Our Single Window Clearance Portal (EoDB Portal) is being widely appreciated by people. The Central Inspection System (CIS) portal is also live. Women’s representation in Panchayati Raj institutions has been impressive at nearly 50 per cent. Kudos Team Arunachal Pradesh!” Khandu tweeted.
Sharing his feelings, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said, Arunachal Pradesh has been ranked top for its various initiatives to improve the quality of life in the state.
“I am confident that our government’s efforts will bring about positive change in the lives of people in the state and make Arunachal a model for other states in India,” the Dy Chief Minister added.
