Itanagar: The Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat here arrested two brothers – Golly Ketan (32) and Goy Ketan (29) – both state government officials serving as assistant engineers in connection with a case pertaining to question paper leakage in APPSCCE-2017 and other examinations.
Natives of Jomlo Mongku under Rumgong circle in Siang district, Golly Ketan is posted at Anini in Dibang Valley district under Public Works Department, while his younger brother, Goy Ketan posted at Kaying circle in his home district under the UD and Housing Department.
They were arrested on Sunday, the SIC (Vigilance) SP Anant Mittal said on Monday.
With the arrest of Ketan brothers, the total number of people arrested in the case now stands at 27, he said.
Post allegation of the AE (Civil) examination paper leak case, the SIC (Vig) PS has registered the aforementioned case on October 19 last on the basis of an FIR lodged by Kesto Loriak and seven other deprived candidates of APPSCCE-2017.
“Further, all complaints related to other various exams conducted by the APPSC (Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission) from 2014 onwards have been amalgamated with the instant case for detailed investigation,” the SP informed.
The AE (Civil) Mains exam paper leak scam surfaced after one of the candidates, Gyamar Padang, filed a police complaint on August 29, alleging that the question paper had been leaked prior to conduct of the said recruitment exam on August 26 and 27.
The AE (Civil) paper leak case is being investigated by the CBI.
