Arunachal logs 14 fresh Covid cases, 29 recoveries

Itanagar: Daily Covid19 recoveries continue to exceed fresh cases in Arunachal Pradesh as 29 people recuperated from the infection against detection of 14 new virus cases during the past 24 hours, a senior health official said on Tuesday.

Following this, the North-Eastern state’s active caseload has further slipped to 134. The new cases took the state’s tally of confirmed cases to 64,427.

The state’s death toll remained at 296 as no new casualties were reported in the period. A total of 63,997 people have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery rate now stands at 99.33 per cent, while the overall positivity rate is 0.21 per cent and the death rate 0.46 per cent.

Four of the fresh Covid19 cases were reported from East Siang, followed by three each from Itanagar Capital Complex and Tawang, while two cases came from Lower Subansiri and one each from Lohit and Longding.

Eleven of the total cases were found to be symptomatic and three asymptomatic, the official said. Arunachal has administered a total of 16,37,570 Covid19 vaccine doses to its eligible populations, so far, he said.
