Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have extended warm greetings to the people of the State, particularly the Aka community, on the eve of Sarok Festival and expressed the hope that the festivity will invoke
blessings from all deities for the wellbeing and prosperity of society.
The Sarok Festival reflects the age-old bond of the Aka community with nature and facilitates in showcasing their traditions, cultural heritage and customs.
By celebrating this festival the community reminisces about their forebears who have been the embodiment of the tribe’s standards, the Governor said and urged the younger generations to get proudly connected to their roots and partake in the celebration as an enlightened part of our cultural diversity.
“On this festive occasion, I join my Aka brethren in offering prayers to invoke the spirit of Almighty to protect us from the Corona pandemic and bless each one of us with good fortune and health,” the Governor said in his message.
In his message, CM Khandu said, “I believe, the colorful festival of the Akas sets up the tempo for peace and development. I wish all my people a successful celebration and may almighty shower their choicest blessings on them,” he said.
