Itanagar: Continuing the surge in Coronavirus infections, Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday reported 85 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking its active caseload to 474 and the tally of confirmed cases to 65,598, a senior health official said.
Of the new cases, 16 were detected in East Siang, 11 in Itanagar Capital Complex, nine in Lohit, and seven in Lower Subansiri, while five cases each came from Dibang Valley, Namsai, and Upper Siang, State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr. Lobsang Jampa said.
Of the total cases, 27 were found to be asymptomatic and 58 symptomatic, he said, while adding that the state tested 435 samples during the last 24 hours which enhanced the cumulative figure to 12,81,732.
On the contrary, Arunachal Pradesh registered 59 recoveries during the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered cases rose to 64,828, Dr. Jampa said, adding that the state’s Covid death toll remained unaltered at 296.
The state’s active cases accounted for 0.72 percent of the total caseload and the recovery rate stood at 98.83 percent, he said.
