Arunachal Covid recoveries continue to outnumber new cases

Four cases each were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, Namsai and Upper Siang districts. Thirty of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 12 symptomatic, the official said.

Itanagar: The single-day Covid19 recoveries continued to exceed the fresh cases in Arunachal Pradesh as the state reported 197 recoveries against 42 new cases of infection, a senior health official said on Sunday.

With this, Arunachal’s active caseload has further decreased to 695 in the last 24 hours when. no fresh casualty was reported. The state’s Covid death toll thus remained unchanged at 294, he said.

With the detection of the new cases, the Northeastern state’s tally of confirmed cases mounted to 63,982, while the total number of recovered cases rose to 62,993. Of the fresh cases, 10 were reported from West Kameng and nine from Lower Subansiri districts.

The day’s positivity rate, however, slightly increased to 8.03 percent which was logged at 7.26 percent the previous day. altogether 523 samples were tested for the virus in the past 24 hours.
