Arunachal: Corona torments 168 more; 1 succumb

Itanagar: As many as 168 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s infection tally to 37,105, while the death toll rose to 177 as one more succumbed to the virus.
Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 59, followed by Tawang 28 and Papum Pare 17, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.
Barring 63, all the patients are asymptomatic.
According to the bulletin, a 78-year-old Covid patient from Itanagar Capital Complex died on Sunday at DCH Chimpu here. She died due to acute respiratory distress syndrome with Covid pneumonia.
The body was handed over to the family member as per Covid-19 SOP.
On a positive note, 263 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the recoveries tally to 33,967.
Active cases tally stands at 2,961.
