Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona has tested positive for Covid19, which was confirmed by an RT-PCR test. Informing this in a social media post, the Speaker has requested all those who came in contact with him in the past few days to get themselves tested.
Sona has earlier undergone a rapid antigen test (RAT) as a preemptive measure ‘after coming in contact with Covid positive people’ which however came out negative. But he was in isolation as suggested by doctors.
“After coming in contact with covid positive people, I got a RAT test done few days back and tested negative but isolated myself as suggested by doctors. Today to reassure the result I underwent RT-PCR test and was tested positive for COVID-19. I request everyone who came in contact with me in the past few days to kindly get tested,” Sona stated in the FB post on Friday night.
Earlier on the day, the Speaker met a delegation of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS) officers of 2021 batch who called on him at his office premises here.
“Had a wonderful interaction with the young officers on wide range of topics. I urged the new officers to work in the interest of the state,” Sona has said in a tweet.
