Chandel: In continuation of its people-centric initiatives aimed at youth empowerment and national integration, Assam Rifles is set to commence a Pre-Recruitment Training Programme for local aspirants preparing to join the Indian Armed Forces under the Agniveer Scheme and the Territorial Army. The programme will begin on 01 August 2026 at Modi, Chandel District, providing concrete opportunities for local youth to serve the nation.
The initiative has generated an encouraging response, with approximately 70 aspirants, including 05 female candidates, registered so far. Registration remains open to accommodate additional enrolments prior to the start of training. Registered candidates will first undergo an initial screening process involving essential documentation verification, basic medical examination and a preliminary physical fitness test based on prescribed recruitment standards. Successful candidates will then transition into a comprehensive training regime under experienced Assam Rifles instructors.
The carefully curated curriculum encompasses physical fitness training, written examination preparation, personality development, communication skills, interview techniques and motivational guidance. The programme focuses on cultivating leadership, mental resilience, discipline and teamwork while instilling core military values of integrity and courage. By offering professional mentoring, Assam Rifles seeks to equip candidates with the skills and confidence required to excel in competitive selection procedures, while encouraging greater participation of young men and women in defence services.
