Army officers interact with villagers in Manipur’s Bishnupur district

The meeting provided an open forum to the members of village committees and other residents to share security, administrative and other miscellaneous issues being faced by them

Kohima: Officers of the Indian Army interacted with residents of Wangu Sabal and Naodokhong villages of Bishnupur district in Manipur on 23 May 2024. The meeting was attended by 70 personnel including women key appointments of the village security councils.   

The meeting provided an open forum to the members of village committees and other residents to share security, administrative and other miscellaneous issues being faced by them, specially during the cultivation season and permissions for collecting firewood astrid the fringe areas.   

The villagers were assured of heightened security measures adopted by the security forces in the region. The members were also briefed on the current security situation in the region. Residents were further advised to restrict their movement in proximity to fringe areas. The meeting culminated with an understanding and assurance from both sides to work together as a team towards fostering peace, stability and prosperity in the region.     

Such interactions deepen the connection between the local communities and security forces, nurturing cooperation and contributing towards maintenance of tranquility and harmony.
