Imphal: In a significant effort to restore peace and stability in Manipur, the Indian Army has intensified its search operations across the region to counter the rising violence. In collaboration with the Manipur Police, the Army conducted a successful joint operation on September 5, 2024.

Acting on precise intelligence inputs, the operation led to the discovery of a substantial cache of arms in the sensitive fringe areas of Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts, delivering a major setback to the miscreants threatening peace in the state.

The recoveries included one heavy caliber launcher, one 12-bore double-barrel rifle, one .177 rifle with a magazine, two pistols, one pompi gun, five grenades, ammunition, and other war-like stores, according to a press note from the PRO (Defence) of Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
