Imphal: Acting on specific information about presence of arms and ammunition in general area Mongjang village, in Churachandpur district of Manipur, Indian Army and Manipur Police carried out a joint operation on Tuesday.
The operation resulted in recovery of a 12.5 Assault Rifle, a Single Shot Bolt action Rifle, two 9mm pistols, Mortar, ammunition along with other War-Like stores. The recoveries have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal.
Medical assistance at old age homes
Spear Corps of the Indian Army provided medical assistance to the residents of two Old Age Homes, one each in Terakhong and Naodakhong villages of Bishnupur District in Manipur on Tuesday.
Teams of Indian Army doctors and Nursing staff provided comprehensive health evaluations, consultations and essential medicines to 104 senior citizens residing in the old age homes.
Senior citizens and the management committees of the Old Age Homes extended gratitude to Army medical teams for their compassionate gesture, said a press note from the PRO(Defence), Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
