AP records a single-day spike of 128 new Covid-19 cases, one death

Lohit registered the highest number of fresh cases at 44, followed by Tawang (35), Lower Dibang Valley (15), East Siang (eight) and Itanagar Capital Complex (six).

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh recorded the highest single-day spike of 128 new cases of COVID-19 infections in over one month and one more fatality during the past 24 hours, sources in the state health department said.

Arunachal’s death toll rose to 276 as an 89-year-old COVID positive male patient from West Kameng district succumbed to the infection in the period; while with the addition of new cases, the state’s tally of confirmed cases mounted to 54,572.

Lohit registered the highest number of fresh cases at 44, followed by Tawang (35), Lower Dibang Valley (15), East Siang (eight) and Itanagar Capital Complex (six).

Eighty of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 48 symptomatic.

On the other hand, 25 COVID patients have recuperated in the period across the state that increased the total number of recoveries to 53,856.
The state’s COVID-19 recovery rate now stands at 98.69 per cent, while active caseload enhanced to 440.
