Itanagar: As the state continues to see the gradual decline in daily Covid19 positivity rate, as well as fresh infections for the past two weeks, the Arunachal Pradesh Government on Wednesday further, relaxed the existing Covid curbs relating to workplaces, educational institutions, public transport, night curfew, etc in the state. It, however, said the existing containment measures in the state will remain in force.

Deputy Commissioners (of the districts) are authorized to announce needed Covid19 containment measures and/or declare containment zones in their respective jurisdictions considering local conditions, in consultation with the Health Department.

The government allowed resumption of physical classes (of all standards) in well-ventilated rooms following all Covid protocols (Govt had earlier permitted resumption of offline classes in all private and Govt schools from class VI and above with 50 per cent class strength from Feb 1).

“It may be ensured that all 15 yrs and above attending classes have received their scheduled Covid19 vaccination. The educational institutes may endeavour for full vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff with both the doses of the vaccine,” said the ‘public health advisory issued by the Health Department, as per recommendations of the State Health Task Force.

It also said, “Night curfew may be imposed in all districts from 10 pm to 5 am upto February 28 (from earlier 9 pm to 5 am). Further decisions in this regard would depend on the local situation assessment by the District Administration in consultation with the Health Department.”

It also allows all workplaces, businesses, commercial establishments to operate till 9 pm, with double dose vaccinated staff and strict observance of Covid-appropriate behaviour (CAB). “Offices may resume normal functioning strictly observing CAB. Official meetings may preferably be conducted virtually rather than in physical mode to avoid congregation in indoor settings,” it said.

Public/religious gatherings and events in indoor/closed spaces will be allowed with 50pc capacity for vaccinated individuals ‘only’, while in outdoor spaces the attendance can be 80pc for vaccinated individuals. In respect of public transport, the government said public transport will operate strictly observing Covid appropriate behaviour.

Regarding entry of visitors, the advisory said entry at all the inter-state check gates may be allowed only for those who have completed double dose vaccination. Presently, the Northeastern state has 466 active Covid19 cases.
