Imphal: Friday saw Manipur’s active cases down 4, 303, recovery rate showing a marked improvement at 94.51% but the positivity rate remains relatively high at 10.2%.
The state recorded 7 Covid related deaths, 372 positive cases(371 general population, 1 CAPF) and 478 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Friday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The 7 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include 3 from Bishnupur, 2 from Imphal West and 1 each from Imphal East and Thoubal. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 7 deaths now stands at 1,739.
4 of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while 4 of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 372 persons (168 males, 203 females) from the general population who tested positive include 131 from Imphal West, 74 from Imphal East, 47 from Churachandpur, 30 from Kamjong, 23 from Ukhrul, 17 from Thoubal, 13 from Senapati, 11 from Kakching, 10 from Bishnupur, 9 from Tamenglong, 2 each from Kangpokpi and Pherazwl and 1 from Chandel.
Altogether, a total of 3,739 persons were tested accounting for a positivity rate of 10.2 % in the state on Friday.
Meanwhile, 478 persons were discharged which include 200 from home isolation, 99 from CHICs, 148 from CCCs, 13 from JNIMS and 18 from RIMS.
Due to various reasons, 1092 persons are reported as discharged cases only on Friday. Therefore, the total number of recovered cases is considered as 1570 after reconciliation with reports of IDSP Team, Home Isolation Team, Community Home Isolation Team as on August 20, 2021.
The recovery rate in the state stands at 93.40%.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,10,215(General Population – 1, 06,129, Central Security Personnel – 4,086). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,04,173(General Population – 1,00,133, Central Security Personnel – 4,046). The number of active cases is 4,303(General Population – 4,262, Personnel – 41).
Altogether 4,631were vaccinated on August 19, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 67,603(1st dose 11,73,931, 2nd dose 2,93,672).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 20, is 395 which includes 315 general beds and 80 ICU/HDU beds.
The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state is 3547 out of which 1037 are occupied and 2510 are vacant.
