Imphal: Active cases in Manipur shot up to 1063 with 158 persons (155 general population 3 CAPF) testing positive and 37 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Saturday. During the same period, two persons succumbed to Covid -19, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The two persons who expired Saturday are from Imphal West and Kangpokpi. Both of them had co-morbidities and one of them had been vaccinated with the 2nd dose while the other one had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1014.
Of the 155 persons from the general population who tested positive, 49 are from Imphal West, 39 from Churachandpur, 38 from Imphal East, six from Thoubal, five each from Senapati and Chandel, four each from Bishnupur and Kakching three from Kangpokpi , two from Ukhrul and one from Tengnoupal. Altogether, 2,245 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 7.1 %.
Meanwhile, 37 persons recovered and were discharged, 18 from home isolation, 16 from CCCs and three from JNIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 97.568 %
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 26,979 out of which 1,23,902 have recovered, leaving 1063 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on January 14, 2022, is 3,837, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,81,712 (1st dose 13,58,792, 2nd dose 10,17,712) and precautionary 5,193.
