ACB officials nab a peon for demanding Rs 3,000 as a bribe

Kolhapur: Anti Corruption Bureau ACB officials arrested a peon of Ambewadi Grampachayat office in Karveer tehsil of this district for demanding Rs Three thousand to give no-objection certificate(NOC) for panchanama purpose of damages in the flood which hit in July month.

The arrested person identified as Shivaji Dattatry Chaugule(43), a resident of Shinde Nagar in Ambewadi and working as a peon in the Ambewadi gram panchayat office.

In a press release, the complainant had applied for NOC to attach panchanamas of his damaged hotel and permit room in Ambewadi. He requested Mr Chaugule to give NOC in early, who demanded Rs 3,000 for it.

The later complainant informed this to ACB officials here, who laid a trap at Ambewadi gram panchayat office this morning and arrested Mr Chaugule for demanding bribe of Rs 3,000.
