ACB officials caught SI in Hyderabad for accepting bribe

The SI demanded the bribe amount to spare the complainant's son from an alleged cheating case and to return his cell phone, a ACB release said.

Hyderabad:The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught red-handed a Sub-Inspector of Police when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 8,000.


The accused SI R Sravan Kumar of Bahadurpura Police Station, Hyderabad was caught red handed by ACB when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs.8,000 from the complainant Mohd Mujeeb of Hyderabad.


The SI demanded the bribe amount to spare the complainant’s son from an alleged cheating case and to return his cell phone, a ACB release said.


The tainted bribe amount of Rs.8,000 was recovered from the possession of the AO after his fingers of right hand yielded positive results in a chemical test.


The Accused Officer performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.


Kumar was being arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Nampally here, the release added.
