Pherzawl: School health screening camps were conducted in educational institutions across Pherzawl district under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), with the objective of ensuring early detection and timely intervention of health conditions among children.
The screening camps were organized today by the District Health Society at Kangreng Govt High School, Thingkal LP School and Lower Kharkhuplien JB School. Similar camps were conducted earlier in the week at Sartuinek Junior High School and DR Thuoma High School, Patpuihmun, on Wednesday; Ngampabung JB School on Thursday; and Phulpui LP School and Upper Kharkhuplien UP School on Friday. More than 230 students underwent health screening across the eight schools.
The initiative forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to address the four key health (4 Ds)-related categories under RBSK, namely Defects at Birth, Deficiencies, Diseases in Childhood, and Developmental Delays and Disabilities.
The programme focuses on early detection, timely intervention and free management of various health conditions among children from birth to 18 years of age, enabling appropriate medical attention and intervention to support their overall health, growth and development.
ASHA workers, personnel from the Education Department and Anganwadi workers actively participated in the programme, extending their cooperation and support for the successful conduct of the screening camps.
