Kakching: Reaffirming its steadfast commitment to civilian safety, community welfare, and public service, Assam Rifles facilitated the safe removal of two hazardous trees and the pruning of overhanging branches of two other trees at Thongwangma, Pallel, Kakching district, Manipur, on 26 October 2026. The aged trees and heavy overhanging branches posed immediate and potential risks to adjacent residential houses, commercial shops, and regular commuters traveling along the busy road stretch.
Responding promptly to the pressing public safety concerns of the local residents, Assam Rifles adopted a proactive approach to address the long-standing hazard. To execute the task safely and seamlessly, Assam Rifles coordinated with the civil administration, local workers, and officials from the Electricity Department. Through seamless joint planning, synchronized field execution, and collective action, potential threats to human lives and local infrastructure were mitigated. The successful completion of the operation resolved a persistent hazard while demonstrating the prompt responsiveness of Assam Rifles towards safeguarding civilian interests. Beyond risk mitigation, the initiative served to promote overall public welfare, reinforcing deep-seated trust, mutual goodwill and strong community relations between Assam Rifles and the local populace.
