Churachandpur: The District Administration, Churachandpur, organised a multi-department Seva Setu Abhiyan camp at the Conference Hall of the SDO/BDO Office, Samulamlan, today as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, while a mass cleanliness drive was conducted across the district under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign through the Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM).
At Samulamlan, the Seva Setu camp was coordinated by Mangte Jonathan Kom, SDO/BDO, Samulamlan, with officials and staff from various departments participating in the initiative. The Seva Setu Abhiyan focused on facilitating beneficiary documentation and applications, distributing scheme benefits and promoting convergence of Central and State welfare schemes.
Residents were assisted with social security and welfare schemes, along with other eligible government benefits. The camp also provided Aadhaar-related assistance and verification, as well as the processing and issuance of Scheduled Tribe/Caste, income and residential certificates.
The Medical Department conducted screening for blood sugar and malaria, with a number of residents availing themselves of the services. The Horticulture Department distributed mulching plastic, compost and beehives to beneficiaries and provided information on various horticulture schemes and available departmental support.
The camp also enabled residents to seek information and assistance on other eligible government welfare schemes and services, with participating departments providing support and guidance at a single venue. The Seva Setu Abhiyan is one of the scheduled activities under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, being observed across the Samulamlan Sub-Division from September 17 to October 17, 2026.
Meanwhile, the District Administration, Churachandpur, through MSRLM, organised a mass cleanliness drive across the district as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign. The initiative was led by T. Zamlunmang Zou, District Programme Manager, MSRLM, Churachandpur, in collaboration with the Autonomous District Council (ADC), Churachandpur.
The drive brought together Self-Help Group (SHG) members from different blocks to undertake cleanliness activities at public and community spaces and promote community participation in sanitation and environmental protection.
SHG members from Tuibong Block participated in the drive at the Tuibong Bazaar area under the coordination of DL Robert Haokip, while members from the Lamka blocks conducted cleanliness activities around the Police Station area under J. Robert S. Gangte.
Members from Lamka South undertook the drive at the New Lamka Damkam Bazaar area under Lunkholien Haokip. At the same time, those from Lanva Block carried out cleanliness activities around the Lanva BDO Office area under Lunkhomang Haokip. SHGs in other blocks also participated in similar activities in their respective villages, coordinated by the presidents and secretaries of the concerned Village Level Federations (VLFs).
The initiative sought to reinforce community ownership of sanitation and encourage SHGs and their federations to play a greater role in social and environmental action. Participants were encouraged to sustain the cleanliness efforts beyond the campaign period.
It may be mentioned that MSRLM Churachandpur currently has 1,525 SHGs, with 14,186 households mobilised into the SHG fold. The mission has also facilitated the formation of 185 Village Level Organisations (VLOs) and three Cluster Level Federations.
