Chandel: Assam Rifles organised a community outreach initiative titled “A Day with Company Commander” at Brighter Foundation School, Sajik Tampak, in Chandel District. Designed to foster meaningful interaction with local youth, encourage educational growth, and strengthen community ties, the programme brought together a total of 160 participants, comprising 150 students and 10 teachers.
During the event, Assam Rifles personnel interacted with the children in an encouraging environment, briefing them on the role and functions of the Armed Forces and Assam Rifles. The interaction focused on motivating students to maintain discipline, pursue higher education, and work diligently towards achieving their personal aspirations.
To build enthusiasm, the troops organised engaging recreational activities, including a Sack Race and a Spoon Race, alongside distributing chocolates to the children. In a major effort to bridge the educational divide, Assam Rifles formally handed over a desktop computer to the school authorities in the presence of students and faculty.
The initiative provided an avenue for positive civil-military engagement in remote border areas of Manipur, where access to digital learning infrastructure remains limited. School authorities and students expressed profound gratitude for the gesture, noting that the computer will significantly enhance digital literacy for both learners and educators.
