CM Khemchand chairs security coordination meeting

The meeting discussed stringent measures to maintain law and order in the State.

Imphl: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today chaired a Security Coordination Meeting to review the present law and order situation in the State. The meeting was held at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal.

During the meeting, the members discussed the stringent steps that should be taken to maintain law and order in the State. The meeting also discussed in length the new vulnerable areas and how to deploy security personnel in those areas, if needed, for the greater interest of the people.

With the working season just approaching, the authorities of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and the contractors have geared up to intensify their work in the next six months, the government hopes to see considerable improvement in the infrastructure development. The Chief Minister stressed in the meeting that the Government will provide all necessary security support to speed up the work, if required. The security agencies have been instructed to see that the ongoing infrastructure development work are not hindered and adequate security are provided.

The meeting was attended by Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam; Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh; Chief Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakur; DGP, Mukesh Singh; Commissioner of Home N. Ashok Kumar; Inspector General, Assam Rifles (South), Major General Gaurav Sharma; Inspector General, Assam Rifles (East), Major General Inderjit Singh Bhinder; Inspector General, CRPF, Homkar Amol Vinukant and others officials of different security agencies.
