Churachandpur: Altaf Hussain Haji, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India along with Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Director, MoRD visited Churachandpur on Wednesday and held a review meeting on various scheme being implemented in the district.
On arrival at DC office, the officials were accorded a warm welcome by Krishna Kumar, IAS Deputy Commissioner and a review meeting was held at the conference hall of DC office under the Chairmanship of DC. The meeting reviews the implementation and progress of various rural development and welfare schemes being undertaken in the district. The meeting was attended by PD/DRDA, EE/DRDA, EE/PMGSY, DMM/MSRLM, DSWO, Director/RSETI and BDOs.
During the meeting, detailed discussion was held on the implementation and progress of major schemes, including VB-G RAM-G, PMAY-G, PMGSY-I & II, Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and Skill Development trainings under SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI).
Following the meeting, the Area Officer inspected a worksite at D. Leikot (Phaihel) being implemented under VB-G RAM-G and took stock of the progress and quality of the work. The team had an interaction with Job card holders and beneficiaries of National Old Age Pension (NOAP).
The officer proceeded to Misao Lhahvom to inspect the PMGSY road work, where the progress of the project and its benefits to the local community were reviewed.
The inspection team also visited RSETI where the officers interacted with the trainees and reviewed the training activities aimed at enhancing skills and promoting self-employment opportunities among rural youth.
Later in the afternoon, the officer inspected a SAGY worksite at M. Songgel and interacted with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Job card holders and local villagers. Discussions focused on the impact of rural development initiatives, livelihood opportunities, community participation and the effective implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level.
The visit provided an opportunity to assess the ground-level implementation of various rural development programmes and to gather feedback from implementing agencies, beneficiaries and local communities. The officers emphasized the importance of timely execution, quality implementation and ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.
