Imphal: Representatives of Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) called on Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, Losii Dikho at his office in the Civil Secretariat, Mantripukhri today. They also submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Chief Minister appealing for justice for the six Liangmai Naga civilians killed on May 13, 2026.
The MBC representatives led by Rev. Dr. Jolly Rimai, General Secretary, MBC, including Rev. Jackson Sapunii, Youth and Education Secretary, MBC and Rev. Dr. Molarhring, Peace and Development Director apprised the Deputy Chief Minister of the hardships faced by the bereaved families and expressed concern over the prolonged delay in resolving the matter. They stated that the mortal remains of the six individuals are still lying at JNIMS, awaiting the delivery of absolute justice before they can be accorded a dignified burial.
The memorandum outlined a 3-point Charter of Demands, calling for Immediate and Direct Justice, Support for Bereaved Families and Safe Passage for Burial. The Convention also urged the State Government to act without further delay to address the concerns of the bereaved families, ensure justice for the victims and take decisive measures to prevent further escalation and restore peace and normalcy in Manipur.
Deputy Chief Minister, Losii Dikho heard the grievances raised by the MBC representatives and assured them that the matter would be looked into and that necessary support and assistance would be extended by the Government.
