Chandel: To mark International Youth Day, Assam Rifles organised a Youth Interaction and Career Guidance Programme at Panchai Community Hall in Chandel District on 12 August 2026. Aimed at empowering the younger generation and fostering national integration, the initiative focused on raising awareness about diverse career opportunities, particularly avenues for entry into the Indian Armed Forces. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 246 students and 12 teachers representing five schools across the region.
During the interactive session, Assam Rifles personnel briefed the participants on prominent entry options, including the National Defence Academy (NDA), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations and National Cadet Corps (NCC) Special Entry scheme. Comprehensive information regarding eligibility criteria, recruitment procedures and career prospects was shared to help students make well-informed choices for their aspirations. The interaction highlighted the vital importance of focused preparation, self-discipline, physical fitness, mental resilience and leadership qualities essential for navigating competitive selection processes successfully.
The interactive platform enabled students to clarify their doubts and gain clarity on effective study strategies and career planning. Encouraged to recognise their individual potential and channelise their energy towards productive endeavours, the young participants were motivated to consider careers founded on integrity, courage and service to the nation. Through such constructive youth-centric engagements, Assam Rifles continues to promote capacity building, career awareness and community empowerment in remote border areas.
