Review meeting held on SIR 2026 electoral roll in Churachandpur

Churachandpur:  A review meeting on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the Electoral Roll was held today at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tuibong, Churachandpur. The meeting was chaired by Electoral Roll Observer for Churachandpur and Additional Chief Secretary (TA & Hills/MAHUD/GAD) Government of Manipur Vivek Kumar Dewangan, IAS.

The meeting was attended by District Election Officer/DC Churachandpur Krishna Kumar IAS, Addl. DEO Seiminthang Lenthang, MCS, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), representatives of recognised National and State Political Parties.

During the interactive session, the Electoral Roll Observer urged all Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers to ensure that no eligible voter is left out during the revision process. Emphasising the Election Commission of India’s commitment to maintaining an accurate and inclusive electoral roll, he invited suggestions, queries and grievances from political parties and members of the public.

Electoral Roll Observer, Vivek Kumar heard the concerns raised during the meeting and assured that the issues would be looked into. He urged all officials to ensure that the electoral rolls remain accurate, up-to-date, and free of ineligible or duplicate entries. He emphasized the importance of active participation and cooperation of all stakeholders in ensuring that the electoral roll remains accurate, inclusive, and error-free. The political party representatives shared their observations and were encouraged to continue extending constructive support throughout the revision process.

The Observer appreciated the efforts of the district election machinery in carrying out the Special Intensive Revision and stressed the importance of close coordination among election officials, political parties and the public to ensure a transparent, inclusive and error-free electoral roll.

Later, Electoral Roll Observer accompanied by DEO and Election officials inspected Tuibong SDO/ERO office at Kholmun  and interacted with officials engaged in the revision exercise.
