Imphal: The Manipur Judicial Academy organized a Training Programme on the topic “Nyay Shruti” – a video conferencing application developed by Government of India for virtual court appearances, proceedings and recording testimonies. It derives its legal backing from Section 530 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. It was held at the Auditorium of the High Court of Manipur. The inaugural speech was given by Hon’ble Justice, Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui, Director of Manipur Judicial Academy.
The programme was conducted with the objective of familiarising Judicial Officers and staff of the District Courts of Manipur with the features, operation and practical application of the Nyay Shruti system in judicial proceedings.
The training focused on the use of technology to facilitate the recording and management of court proceedings. The participants were acquainted with the functioning of the system, its relevance to the administration of justice, and the manner in which it can contribute to greater efficiency, accuracy and accessibility in judicial processes.
The resource persons delivered the detailed presentation and demonstration on the various aspects of Nyay Shruti. The session also provided an opportunity for the participants to discuss practical issues, raise queries and seek clarification regarding the implementation and use of the system.
The programme is a part of the continuing efforts of the Manipur Judicial Academy to promote technological competence among judicial officers and staff of the District Courts to strengthen the effective use of digital tools in the justice delivery system.
The training programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the participants and resource persons for their valuable contributions to its successful conduct.
