Kakching: Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive medical camp in Kakching District, Manipur, on 03 August 2026. The initiative aimed to extend essential healthcare services to residents of the valley, while specifically addressing the medical needs of wards of serving soldiers, thereby further strengthening the bond of trust and cooperation with the local population.
The medical drive provided expert consultations, specialized check-ups and quality treatment to a total of 167 individuals. A combined medical team comprising five security forces personnel—including two Doctors and three Nursing Assistants—alongside civil specialists including a Gynaecologist, Microbiologist, Paediatrician, Ophthalmologist and Dentist delivered tailored care. The camp featured lab testing, refractive error screening, nerve conduction tests for diabetes and peripheral neuropathy screening, as well as free distribution of essential medicines to needy attendees. Additionally, Dr Bijendra Yengkhom, Officer In-Charge of NACP, Kakching District, conducted an awareness session on HIV, followed by voluntary HIV screening carried out by NACP staff with written consent.
The compassionate environment and dedicated support earned heartfelt gratitude from all beneficiaries towards Assam Rifles for its selfless service. Such endeavors reaffirm the Force’s enduring mission to uplift border communities and ensure health, stability and social well-being across the region.
