Guwahati: More than 3,197 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state of Assam till Friday, April 30.
A total of 26 patients in the state succumbed to infections caused by the COVID-19 virus on the same day.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state of Assam to date is 1,307.
A total of 1,184 new cases were reported from Kamrup Metro district on Friday.
Other high case-load districts (with maximum numbers of new cases reported in a day) include Dibrugarh (245), Nalbari (143) and Kamrup Rural (133).
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state of Assam went up to 23,826. Further, 2,449 patients in total were discharged from various hospitals in the state.
