Imphal: Thiyam Akuvan, Founder of Akumen AI, an Imphal-based assistive technology and artificial intelligence startup developing affordable and accessible technology solutions for persons with visual impairments and other disabilities, called on the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Lok Bhavan today.
During the meeting, the founder showcased one of the startup’s flagship products, INSIGHT—an AI-powered wearable smart glasses system designed specifically for blind and low-vision users. The device enables users to read printed text, identify objects, and perform other everyday tasks with greater independence. INSIGHT is being developed to support 22 Indian languages, including Manipuri.
