Kakching: A special enrolment and saturation drive was conducted today at Wangoo Tera High School, Kakching, to facilitate the enrolment of eligible Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) under various social welfare schemes.
The programme was jointly organised by the District Administration, Kakching and the District Social Welfare Office (DSWO), District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), under the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur.
The drive targeted IDPs residing at the Wangoo Tera High School Relief Camp as well as non-camp beneficiaries for enrolment under various welfare schemes of Social Welfare Department including the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme, Chief Minister’s Widow Pension Scheme, Disability Pension Schemes, Unemployment Allowance to Persons with Disabilities, Ima Nongthang Leima Yaifa Tengbang Scheme, Sponsorship under Mission Vatsalya and other welfare programmes.
The drive will continue on July 6 at KBM English School, Kakching Khunou and on July 7 at Tangjeng Khunjao Community Hall Relief Camp, with enrolment activities scheduled from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm on both days.
